TOBY T-SHIRT PLANT DYED 001

Unisex crew neck tee cut in an oversized silhouette, featuring our minimal, embroidered logo on the chest. Plant dyed with hibiscus flower. Each piece is an original.

The garment was made in non-dyed, non-bleached organic cotton fabric. Fabric was knitted in local workshop and garment was crafted in our tailoring manufactory, both in Slovakia. Then, in our atelier, it went through natural, plant dyeing process, all done with Daniela's hands.

 

„First, it was soaked in soya milk, that I made by blending soya beans and then straining the milk through a muslin cloth. Soya milk is a mordant, it assists with the bond between the dye and fibre. Then, I made a dye bath from the dyestuff. Dyestuff is my only ingedient, plus water. I use only fresh or dried plants, no synthetic or toxic chemicals. After the bath, I leave the garment to dry. After at least a week, it’s washed in washing machine and I leave it to dry again, iron it and I'll leave it waiting for you.“ Daniela

For care instructions, I recommend washing gently in cold water with natural, pH-neutral detergents. Repeated washing and sunlight cause colours from natural dyes to fade. When drying, avoid direct sunlight exposure. For daily care, simply be mindful of sun exposure to preserve the colors of your garment.
